When you arrive at City Lights Boutique Lodge you will be welcomed by your hosts Grace and David.
Grace and David originally lived in Auckland for about 8 years where Grace worked as a beautician and David worked as a high school maths teacher. David’s work was far from home and he was spending an average of four hours or more per day on the road which was hard on everyone.
So they decided it was time for change. They sold their home in Auckland and started their hunt for a new adventure.
A mixture of luck and fate bought them to city lights.
On their first visit to City Lights Boutique Lodge they fell in love with the alpacas and the view.
The previous owners, Angie and Leigh, made them feel very welcome. After a discussion with them they graciously accepted their offer and let them purchase the business. Even though they were not the top bidders, Angie & Leigh felt that they were the right people for the job. Grace and David are really grateful for their kindness and their continued support.
It was a huge learning curve as it was something completely different!
Grace and David both love meeting new people so moving to City Lights has given them the opportunity to do so. They also enjoy the outdoors and like gardening, tramping, photography, birds and nature. They are still exploring the Rotorua area and trying out new walks whenever they can. There are so many beautiful places to visit in the region and the only problem is having the time and fitness to visit them all. They are happy to share their opinions with you on the places they have already visited.
They love their new lives in Rotorua and New Zealand and are keen to help you to enjoy your stay here as much as they do.
